What I Want

What I want is

Something people may have a hard time understanding

I want to see

The world

The way it once was

To witness the chariot races in Rome

Counting the laps

Lap 1, lap 2

I want to watch the pyramids being built

Stonehenge taking shape

Counting the stones as they're put in their places

Stone 1, stone 2

I want to count the days

The months, the centuries, the civilizations coming & going

The rising and falling of empires

Metsopotamian, Egyptian, Greek, Roman, Chinese, Mongolian

The rulers who have lived so long ago

Hamarabi, Cleopatra, Agammemnon, Ceasar, Shi Huang Ti, Ghengis Khan

Unseen Phantoms

Can anyone go out and not be seen

There is a love for everyone somewhere

How can each word seem cruel and oh so mean

When there is someone who’s supposed to care

The darkened ever-lurking phantoms roam

The misery shows deep within their eyes

Each darkened heart awaits the midnight storm

The lightning sparks love’s once appealing lies

So now unhappiness within resides

A part of them has started slowly dying

This is not something one with ease decides

Some phantoms spend their lonely nighttimes crying

Oh surely phantoms must have some salvation

Or are they darkened lingering creations
